Let us know Poker

Gambling and betting are something which does not need much of an explanation and almost everyone is aware of it. The most common form of gambling is a game of cards. Whether it is a family function, a get-together or any festival when friends and family gather a game of cards is one of the best source of entertainment for everyone. Especially in India card games are pretty common in each household and come festival time or marriage in a family a game of card is a must. In last few years, there has been a great evolution in people’s interest as well as playing a variety of card games.

Poker game is one such game which is famous worldwide and it is also a part of a family of gambling card games. Poker is indeed a card game which needs amazing talent and presence of mind where the winners hand has some cards or combination of cards which remain hidden until the end of the hand. A game of poker depends on how the cards are dealt, the number of shared or community cards that remain hidden and the betting procedures. Now, the interesting part about this game as to why it is known as Poker? Poker is basically a variation of a French card game people call it as Poque which means bluff. So when this game came to riverboat casinos in the southern US in the 19th century, the American accent created a pronunciation as Poker.

Today Poker has many variations and there are many prestigious poker tournaments being held in different countries where professional poker players participate and win a fortune. The multimillion-dollar tournament prize makes it more attractive which professional poker players anxiously wait for it. Some of the major variation in poker are: Lowball, High-low split, Kill game, Wildcards, Twist round, Stripped round, Royal deck, Double flip, Roll your own and much more. Poker can also be played in a mixed format such as mixed poker games like HORSE, HOSE HOE etc.

A lot of people say that Poker is addictive and once you start playing it and enjoying it you get addicted however, this is not true as it completely depends on person to person. However Yes many poker players are not skilled or professional players and they just play for fun. While playing they do lose money but they enjoy the thrill of risking their money in a game of poker. Those who are professionals they have a detailed knowledge of this game and they are experts at it. They are not really gamblers because they risk their money at favorable odds. They are skilled and thus their mathematical expectation of winning is positive since they are experts at this game as compared to their opponents.

Whatever one says but Poker has a thrill, excitement and at the same time it is a real test of your presence of mind and your calculation of numbers and if you have it in you get ready for a game of poker.
