NUT FLUSH HAS TO FOLD

Kenny Burke has just been told that his nut flush (the winning hand) has to be folded. The pot was roughly 30k and after betting 6k on the river someone moved all in for 9k. Kenny turned over the nuts but had not announced a call. The ruling stated as there was no verbal declaration then the hand has been classed as folded.

My pen must've slipped

   WOW! That's probably the worst ruling I have ever heard of.

Just out of curiosity who made the ruling?

I was only explaining what I was quoted from a dealer. It was Kat who made the ruling. I will find out now and correct if needed

Sorry

I wouldn't know what to do with that many chips anyway. 20BBs puts me much closer to my comfort zone.

Having spoken to Kat, my explanation was correct and that ruling was made. What she followed on saying is that she now believe she made the incorrect decision. She also stated that the rule could have gone both ways, and that in reality he should have received a 10 hand penalty. Given the situation she used her discretion to not imply the said penalty. Another incident happened whilst I was dealing at the UKIPT event in Nottingham recently. The exact same rule was applied and the person who turned his cards over did not have to call the all in bet after losing the hand. At the same time then it took 3 people to make that decision and PokerStars are quite strict with their rulings

I know you were only explaining Iain. There maybe more to it. However, i stand by what i said. If youve worded it corectly, 100% wrong rule given. :|

There maybe more to it correct but that wasn't elaborated on unfortunately. Still the rule must stand and cannot be changed. Reaction to it in the cardroom is very mixed
