The action really has picked up. The short stacks are starting to get their money in the middle in order to either spin up their stacks, or go busto to leave the option to buy into tonight’s flight open.
That’s what seems to have happened with Tony Conner. He just shoved his remaining 17,500 in to the middle on a Jc8s7d flop against Eddie Bhakar. Bhakar made the call holding a 7, much to Tony’s delight as he was holding Pocket Kings.
Tony doubled up, and Eddie busted a few hands later.

Level 8 has bitten the dust, and following the 15 minute break, Level 9 will take over and rise up to the challenge at the Brighton 25/25

We are back, and straight into the last two levels of the afternoon. Level 9 has blinds of 600/1200 with a running ante of 100.
There are only 24 players left in this flight, and with just these two levels to go today, some of them are left in the unenviable position of trying to spin up, or die trying.

Barney Boatman started his comeback with the hope of making the top of the Brighton 25/25 mountain with a double up while holding 8-5. The fact they both paired probably helped, but Boatman is now on his way out of the building. We didn't see the hand but it was against Tony Lee who has been one of the big stacks at Boatman’s table for a while. The two players shook hands as Barney left the table. Barney has said he won't be back for another go at this one.

The last level of this flight is upon us. Level 10 is 40 minutes of the blinds at 800/1,600 with the ante at 200.

We have 20 players left, with the average stack as 67,500.

The attitude at the tables is calm and friendly, and with only 15 going through last night it's anyone's guess how many of these remaining players will be back tomorrow.

We are down to just two tables now with less than 24 minutes to go in level 10. The big hands are few and far between, and players seem to be busting in smaller pots that only attract attention when a player gets up to leave.

David Osman has been keeping his head down for the past few hours, but has still managed to maintain a stack very close to the tournament average.

We've not lost a player since went to two tables, in fact, it seems like fate is actively trying to keep our tables full

Chris Parker just found himself all in for his remaining stack, standing at about 20k. He had pocket queens, and was up against Mike Quinn's AdTd. The flop brought a sweat, showing two diamonds, but Chris managed to survive as the turn and river bricked out. We are still at 18 players with 8 mins left on the level.

We are now down to the last 5 hands of the flight after our tournament director, Mike, had someone randomly select a card. The 5 was picked out, meaning we are edging closer to the end of the day for these players, and the start of a new flight.

The first flight to be run as part of today's Grosvenor 25/25 has now come to an end. We finished with 18 players who had an average of 79,400 chips in thier stacks.

Currently, the tournament staff are doing a fantastic job of preparing fro the 2nd flight of the day, and we'll be bringing you the coverage of that as soon as it starts.

We have had our first elimination, Johnathan Reynolds was eliminated early in Level 1. We didn't have a chance to even take a picture of the unfortunate gentleman.

Local poker royalty has just turned up. Babis Lappas, a well known local poker player with a WSOP final table to his name, has just taken his seat in the tournament room.
Babbis has busted me in this card room more times than I can remember, but I still wish the guy the best of luck.

Gavin Jones was just eliminated from Table 5 when he ran into Guijar Nitoo in a hand. I arrived as the flop was spread showing 6c2s3c. The betting went back and forth until all of the chips were in the middle. Guijar turned over pocket queens for a commanding lead over Gavin’s pocket snowmen.
The board ran out with the Ts and 6d, helping no-one, and sending Gavin to the rail.

Level 3's blinds are 100/200 with no ante.

Sometimes poker can make you feel king of the world, and sometimes it makes you feel like something stuck to the bottom of a shoe. The last hand I watched had both of these options covered.
As I arrived, the flop was showing A – X – X and all the money was being moved to the middle. Jason Clarke flipped over his hole cards to show the hand we all crave, Pocket Aces. Shah Atchar On the other hand flipped over A-7 for a flopped top two pair. I think you can tell who was feeling which end of the scale.
The turn and the river didn’t change anything, and Shah hit the rail, but soon re-bought.
The table hadn't finished yet. Sitting next to Clarke, Il Iyengar was involbed in the next hand, was dealt the second pair of Aces in the hole in consecutive hands. This hand saw him able beat to Parvis Tafreshi’s Qh9h who hit a flush draw on the flop.

Level 3 is now in the books, leaving just the 15 minute break for players to enter the tournament.

We'll be back for level 4, and we'l bring you the prizepool and payout information when we have it.
