UK uncertainty in 2017

The UK for its part has other highly pressing issues: Brexit, its potential impact on Gibraltar, and, oh yes, a general election set to take place on 8 June. For UK bookmakers the GE will likely mean a delay until the Autumn to the publication of the government's Triennial Review recommendations.

At the time of writing neither DCMS or other contacts had commented on the matter officially. So for the time being, UK operators can breathe a bit more easily when they think of FOBTs or advertising clampdowns. Nonetheless it is very hard to predict with any sense of certainty how the UK igaming market will evolve in 2017.
